Precision Orthopedics to Offer Mako Robotic Technology

  • Total Knee Replacement
  • Total Hip Replacement
  • Unicompartmental Knee Replacement

Precision Orthopedics, which provides advanced, quality and compassionate care in your neighborhood, is pleased to announce that we now offer the current cutting edge technology using the Mako Robotic arm-assisted surgery system.

Those suffering from knee and hip problems know how frustrating it can be having your life limited by pain. It can be difficult to walk, stand, run, bend, lift and even sleep, which means keeping up with children, grandchildren and pets becomes more difficult. The new technology is more customizable and accurate than any other knee or hip replacement technology on the market, making it easier for patients to get back to their lifestyles.

Before surgery, the surgeon takes a CT scan and creates a 3D model of the patient’s knee or hip. With this model, the surgeon can assess the exact way the replacement joint must be inserted to determine a plan for the operation. This plan also takes into account any minor deformities (i.e. knocked knees or bow-legs).

During surgery, the Mako Robot acts as a guide for the surgeon and the technology determines a set of boundaries for where the surgeon can and cannot operate. This, in turn, results in fewer errors and difficulties surgeons may experience during a partial or total knee. This new technology allows for a higher level of success with knee and hip surgeries, which are completed efficiently with as little recovery time as possible.

Precision Orthopedics is committed to providing the highest quality of care and utilizing the latest technological innovations to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
